Truly one of the most emotionally evocative poems I have read in some time. As the sun by seamaire hits like a sledgehammer to the chest. If you don't read another Daily Poem this week, scope this one!!

Literature Text

Nightfall

As the sun becomes the moon
you climb the stairs up to my room
candles with the scent of myhrr
illuminate the evening's lure

Skin against the sheen of silk
with clarity of fresh-drawn milk
calls the touch of fingertips
soon followed by the brush of lips

Claim my body's beat and breath
divide the senses, blind and deaf
take me on the dusky ride
embrace temptation's hungry side

Fall into the sight of sound
drawn from my mouth as you astound
pull me closer to the ledge
and leave me dangling on the edge

Lose yourself inside of me
until the air calls to the sea
let your boundaries come undone
as the moon becomes the sun

At our local poetry reading, we each wrote down a suggested topic and drew someone elses to write for our next meeting. I picked erotic.

A misheard line from a song got me thinking at the start, and things just went from there.
